Product Overview

Steraffirm Steam Type 6 Emulating Indicators are cycle verification indicators that confirm the presence or absence of specific time and temperature parameters during a cycle, and integrate all the critical parameters of the steam sterilization cycle (temperature, saturated steam and exposure time). Emulating indicators can be placed inside each pack or pouch during sterilization of supplies or equipment in a validated pre-vacuum cycle. These emulating indicators can be used for routine monitoring of steam sterilization cycles. Steraffirm Type 6 Emulating Indicators are non-toxic and free of lead or heavy metals. These Type 6 emulating indicators conform to ISO 11140 (Type 6) standards. The Steraffirm Type 6 Emulating Indicators are for Life Sciences applications only. They are not cleared for use in healthcare facilities in the United States.

HOW STERAFFIRM STEAM TYPE 6 EMULATING INDICATORS WORK

STERIS Steraffirm Steam Type 6 Emulating Indicators are strip chemical indicators that can be placed in each pack, pouch or device being sterilized. After exposure to specific conditions the liquid goes through a permanent color change that indicates sterilization parameters have been met.

WHY STERAFFIRM STEAM TYPE 6 EMULATING INDICATORS?

  • Ease of Use - Easy to interpret results with color change from yellow to blue/purple.
  • Productivity - The color change allows instant evaluation of the sterilization cycle and is permanent. Strips can be kept for documentation.
  • Efficacy - Meets critical standards as a multiple parameter indicator (ISO 11140 Type 6).
  • Flexibility - Several exposure time and temperature versions available to monitor common sterilization cycles.
  • Reliability - Lot number and expiration on each strip and box.
