Product Overview

With programmed cycles, a high capacity chamber, and range of applications, the VHP® MD140X Biodecontamination Chamber establishes the industry standard for low-temperature biodecontamination of instruments and reusable instruments for non-human use.

How the VHP MD140X Biodecontamination Chamber Works

The unit combines STERIS's patented, world renowned VHP process technology, vacuum conditions and Vaprox® 59 Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilant in a fully automated unit.

VHP process technology, introduced in 1991, uses hydrogen peroxide in the vapor state as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial with no condensation of active ingredient onto surfaces.

Why the VHP MD140X Biodecontamination Chamber?

Easy Operation
Three factory programmed cycles for Lumen, Flexible Lumen and Non-Lumen loads simplify operation.1

Productivity
4.8 ft3 (136 L) open, square chamber design offers industry leading space for processing more instruments per cycle.

VHP process technology improves cycle time and daily throughput compared to conventional ethylene oxide systems.

Versatility
Validated cycle capable of processing a non-lumen load of up to 19.65 lbs (8.9 kg) in 28 minutes.

Validated cycle capable of processing a lumen load of up to 20 lumens in 55 minutes.

Validated cycle capable of processing up to 2 flexible lumens or 1 flexible lumen and non-lumens load of up to 24 lbs (10.7 kg) in 35 minutes.

Reliability
Low sensitivity to moisture minimizes aborted cycles, saving time, and enabling reliable instrument turnaround.

Efficiency
Proprietary Vaprox 59 Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilant minimizes risk of instrument damage and is 100% biodegradable into water vapor and oxygen.
